What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnosis is a subject most people have an opinion about, but few people have ever directly experienced.
Hypnotherapy, on the other hand, is a topic that leaves many people baffled or completely blank.
It is important to understand that hypnosis and hypnotherapy are not the same thing.
Hypnosis has been around since humans began to speak and involves going into a trance. It is a state of mind connected to deep relaxation, narrowed focus and increased suggestibility. Hypnosis is an intermediate state between sleep and wakefulness.
Hypnotherapy uses the hypnotic trance to encourage your unconscious mind to achieve a goal, create a positive change in your thinking, or to help solve a problem.
It is important to stress that hypnosis is safe. Being hypnotised is similar to being sleepy or in a daydream. You've probably been in a trance for some period during every day of your life. How often when driving have you suddenly realised that you've gone several miles without being aware of it, because you've probably been thinking about something else?
Hypnotherapy is simply a method of putting your trance state to work solving your problems.
Please note that hypnotherapy is completely different from stage hypnosis, which is a form of entertainment to get laughs, usually at your expense if you get selected to go on stage!
